GW chaos warriors

This week I have mainly being painting chaos warriors. Games Workshop make cracking stuff and the evil side/forces normally appeal to me more.
So new colour scheme of grey and purple! The overall effect is pleasing and the gold on the shields helps pull out the detail white nicely.
The bases are dressed with dead grass which seems appropriate for Chaos and its followers. The odd small rock was thrown in for good measure but to be honest there isn't a lot of room for much else.
The weapons are converted to make them longer and give the impression of double handed weapons, slightly aukward to use whilst carrying a shield but hey this is fantasy! So anything goes! Well that's my excuse.
So thanks for looking and hopefully next up will be my perry miniatures British light Dragoons! If all goes well

Thanks for looking cheers for now Russ

Dads Army

I have finally finished the dads army box set from Warlord Games

They are cracking little figures and I think they capture the characters from the TV series! Not sure my painting is up to the level of the sculpting but they do look the part.

There was a lot of black to paint and hopefully I haven't over done it, its way too easy to grey it down to much. I'm not sure about the bases they dont quite look right! but hopefully the focus is on the figures rather than the base's.
So thanks for looking
 cheers for now Russ

Perry Miniatures French Dragoons

So more plastics to post! I love Napoleonics and have done ever since I had hundreds of them when I was a kid. I struggle painting them massively, I'm not sure why but I do! So I am rather proud of finally finishing up my 2nd French Dragoons, I botched the green abit, but other than that I'm more than happy.
They are not 100% accurate, I normally mess something up so no change there! I did spot after I had taken the photos I had missed the brass trim off the one of the figures helmet peak. No prizes for getting it right! OK its the guy  with the flag!
The dismounted figures are still waiting to be painted but I've made a start which I'm happy with, and hopefully I can keep up the momentum and crack a few more out before I grind to a halt again!
So thanks for looking
 Cheers for now Russ

Longstreet

I have added another command stand to my ACW collection, this time its General Longstreet
Sharing the base with another cracking figure from Dixon minis I think its turned out rather well. Longstreet was another southern gentleman who loved his state and the southern way of life.
If Lee had listened to him could Gettysburg of had a different outcome, I know history is full of what if's and maybe's. Lee was not one for running from a fight and Gettysburg presented him just that! Longstreet seemed hesitant! Did he see the outcome just like Beuford had seen if he didn't stop the Rebels taking the high ground.
so thanks for dropping by and hopefully I will post more goodies real soon!
So thanks for looking cheers for now Russ
