40k chaos

I've painted a few more 40K bits and pieces for a small commission for a good friends 40k army. I like 40k and the wealth of figures it offers but I've never committed to chaos in the collecting stakes myself. So on to the figures, some are converted slightly although I only stuck the parts together I'm not sure who makes some of the parts.

Bring on the big guns

most of the figures needed to be raised up slightly so the ammo belts sat correctly. They sat below the height of the base so it made sense to raise up the base rather than cut down the ammo belt.  As always ripped up cork was used, it's not as heavy as slate but looks presentable once painted.

I love the red and gold it suits these guys down to the ground.

The beast!

I've painted a couple of these in the past but this is the first one I've painted with tentacles. They are proper beasts, armoured and a mix of machine and living parts! Just how chaos should be.

The larger base gave me a chance to play around abit and go to town!

The crates are Rubicon ww2 German accessories, with a few Space marine transfers applied. The rusted metal gives it a good contrast and a splash of colour, and the abandoned weapon and equipment the impression of a hastily retreat.

So another commission completed, and hopefully a very happy customer into the bargain.

So thanks for looking, feel free to comment.
Cheers for now Russ

Clearing the decks

I'm fast running out of room and I plan on adding more units to my ACW collection, so I need to have a clear out! I only paint and collect now adays so I only have a couple of collections I won't part with! Everything else is fair game!

WW2 Soviets

I have 4 x ten man squads, one is Soviet naval brigade (metal figures) all the others are plastic.

                                                           Squad one Soviet naval brigade

                                                              Squad two

Squad three

Squad four

I'm asking £60 for the naval brigade and £50 each for the other 3 plastic 10 man squads. If anyone is interested in all 4 squads I will do all 4 for £180.

Napoleonics

I also have a couple of peninsula Napoleonic units, one British and one Portuguese.

The Portuguese

The British

Both beautifully painted and based, both are Warlord Games plastic figures  with metal command figures. I'm asking £85 each or buy both £150. Im advertising them on The Miniatures Page so if interested contact me either here facebook or TMP, postage/collection can be discussed. I'm willing to accept money order or cheque.

So thanks for looking
cheers for now Russ

US Marines

I'm back to adding more additions to my ACW collection! This time its more Union forces and it's the turn of the Marines. Just for a change I've gone for Dixon miniatures, yes I know that's the bulk of my collection apart from a few conversions but hey they do paint up super nice. Sorry back to these guys they fought at Bull Run, and how dashing they must of looked in fancy white pants. I'm always reminded of Napoleonic French when I look at these guys, maybe it's the white belts and trousers with a blue jacket.

These guys painted up a treat and with only a couple of small alterations with greenstuff they were pretty plain sailing.

The officer as got to be one of my favourite figures from Dixon Miniatures. The bow tie, the map the stance of the figure it all ticks the boxes. The shoulder bars are greenstuff, and the bottom of the standard bearers trousers. I almost forgot about the sergeant stripes they are greenstuff also.

The pose almost screams US Marines but maybe that's just me. A single flag is all they carried so I'm more than happy not having to paint two.

So I now need to add another Confederate unit just to even things out!

So thanks for looking, feel free to comment and I will post again real soon!
Well hopefully!
 Cheers  for now Russ
